Deer Deer!
Some images of the reverse side of my embroidery which I will be selling at this Saturday's Morningside Makers Market. I have a growing collection of deer ornaments which are providing inspiration.

Beauty
I adore this girl, I had to buy her today at a car boot sale. I have grand plans for her, so she is mysteriously hiding in the shade till I am ready to unveil her.....

Monday
So it's been a busy few days, a trip to my local scrappie to get supplies for my "upcycled" projects, what a great term, it's amazing what you can learn on Etsy. My two daughters (5 and 7) were great helps and soon knew what kind of thing I was looking for, they have a good trained eye and helped me find lots of treasures. On the way home we bought some huge king prawns which were delicious and even my youngest daughters comment that she could "see it's guts pouring out it's head" didn't put us off!
I have been asked to do a Craft Fair, there is a link to their blog, Morningside Makers Market on Sat 6 February. It looks like it will be a very creative crowd. The first 100 get a free goodie bag, all say oooooh!
I have been making garlands galore and sold one of my fabric ones almost immediately so I'll be making more of those, It's funny, I'm delighted it sold but I really quite liked it myself!
I'm also now a proud member of Etsy's Cottage Style Street Team (see link).
Today is at it's end, it's been productive but if anybody can help with suggestions on how to add hours on to the day, please let me know....x

Giving it a go....
Having questioned my purpose on Blogger, I'm willing to give it a go, thank you to all the really helpful and creative people at Etsy, such a supportive group of individuals. Something nice happened today 'Craft Fairs Scotland' asked me to show my work at their fairs so I'm hoping to do the Morningside Makers Market on Saturday 6th February 2010, Columcille Centre, Morningside 10.30am - 4.30pm, I'd better get busy!
Off to Sammy Burns Yard tomorrow to find some treasures to give a new lease of life to, will take my camera and post some pics tomorrow.
Things that made me smile, laugh and growl today....2 amazing loaves of bread, which I baked, My youngest daughter laughing, so infectious and a bowl of soup leaping out of the fridge and all over the floor and me. But not to end on a negative note, I'm planning a glass of wine and catching up (still!) with 'Mad Men'.

Exorbitant and Demonic
Exorbitant and demonic all in one paragraph....
Exorbitant is:
finding a secure way to post my new china products abroad, it has proved costly ranging from £40 to over £100 and that's with additional discount, so I'm having to resort to UK posting only, if anyone knows of a great solution, please let me know.
Demonic is Yoga, oh yes:
The funniest story I heard this morning, my friends sister who lives in Greece has been told by her Gynecologist she must stop doing yoga, because it is "Demonic", here's to a little bit of sin, especially the bendy type!

Grand Reopening
Well, I'd like to think of it as a grand reopening, but in reality is was just a little blip in the large marketplace which is Etsy, but I am hopeful this year is a new start and fruitful year for all things Mai'mo craft. Above is an example of the vintage inspired tea pot holders / stands I am making.

In Love!
I've been taking pictures with my new Christmas present today, The Diana Mini. There's only just enough room to squeeze her on the camera shelves but I think she'll be very happy. I'm relieved to know that being in love with my camera is a completely normal experience according to the 'troubleshooting' section in the instruction manual. I'm hoping the colours and textures will work their way into my work somehow. Took lots of snow pics. I actually managed to get some work done today, only 3 more days till I reopen Etsy Shop. x

Brief Introduction
Screen Print and embroidery, in progress, for forthcoming exhibition.
Although my Etsy shop is temporarily closed I am working away creating some new pieces, though with it being Christmas and having the girls off school it has proved difficult to get as much done as I had planned. Not to mention the snow I don't remember when it last snowed every day for nearly 3 weeks (It is lowland Scotland) anyway, the demands to go sledging have taken over sewing and printing. My prints are focusing on bare foliage, stark branches against grey skies and long shadows, I do love the winter.
